Boosting efficiency for students
Our SMART Campus at GIIS will provide an efficient and easy system, called Hotdesking, which will ensure maximum use of minimum space with utmost efficiency.
Students can use the Desk Booking software to block space in dedicated rooms like Student Group Rooms, Conference Rooms or Meeting rooms within the SMART Campus, to be able to work on their projects and assignments undisturbed.
The system works this way: Once an empty space is spotted, students can use the software from their smartphones to book the space for the amount of time required to complete the task. The space will then be locked for their use, and will be out of bounds for everyone else. A small display screen will give information on the booking details including the time, to enable other users to get accurate information and plan their own time and work in the bargain. Once the students are finished with the work, the space will be for other users.
Hotdesking will facilitate the use of a single space by multiple users provided the space is pre-booked. Teachers can avail this method to have a clutter-free work environment

Similar Hotdesking facility is also available for teachers and staff who can choose from the 300 or more workstations available on any floor of their choice across the campus, to use as their workplace.
The system will work in the same fashion as for the student community. Teachers will be able to save time by booking a work space nearest to their location, and fix the amount for time for use.
The flexibility of the system ensures reduction of work place clutter, and increases interaction with colleagues, which can lead to better interoffice relations and camaraderie.
Limited resources will also mean a reduction in carbon footprint.
