learning campus for 21st century

21st century education makes students flexible, adaptive, and creative. Student learning is more self-directed and collaborative and teachers take note of the individual strengths of each child.

Students are at the heart of design

Our SMART Campus is a learning space that has incorporated ideas from leading architects from USA, Japan, Australia and Singapore. Over 100 teachers from GIIS also pooled in from their educational experience to add to the ideation process. As a result, a Campus customised thoroughly for needs of the NextGen Learners came into being.

State of the Art Engineering

GIIS SMART Campus has set new standards in 21st century education in Singapore making world class infrastructure and futuristic learning environments the basis of the premises. Our state-of-the-art campus has a capacity of 3500 students in a building which has symbolic and aesthetic appeal.

Small Learning Communities (SLC)

At our GSF schools, this is a well-received and critically-acclaimed concept in pedagogy wherein an interdisciplinary team of teachers takes the responsibility of educational progress of fewer students through flexible methodologies of teaching.

The aim is to teach students self-determination and give them a sense of identity through personalised interaction among teachers and students, where the educators lay special emphasis on the strengths of the learners to mould them into fine, wholesome individuals.

Thinking outside the box is the hallmark of 21st-century learning. Learning Commons are open spaces at the SMART Campus which can transform into classrooms to facilitate free thinking and provide an ambience where knowledge gathering is possible around the whole campus.

Learning Commons for collaboration

It is imperative that student engagement is increased to improve their individual achievements. This is the philosophy behind Learning Commons, where education involves integrating technology with personal learning requirements through innovative design and assessment.

The school provides teachers and students a space to sit together in a conducive environment - known as Learning Commons - where they can interact and participate. GIIS SMART Campus, provides dedicated spaces, to help our students learn better and grow.

smart Student lounge AND STUDENT GROUP ROOMS

Group, Mingle, Learn! A personal space for students to interact and collaborate, brainstorm on team projects, and if necessary, take a break and relax!

A 2003 study found that the existence of a well-maintained student lounge was a marker of high success rates among students. It was voted as an excellent choice for an unregulated environment where students can have a place to study together, tutor other students, interact socially and provide a great place for informal chats between faculty and student community.

Here’s what parents say about us

“Every teacher and staff in the primary school calls Fuuko by her name when they see her. They all know her well and this makes us feel welcome at GIIS. Fuuko has good teachers and enjoys the school library a lot. From being a shy student when she joined GIIS, she has now become a confident learner who actively participates in her class.”

Mr. Hiroyuki Watanabe
Father of Fuuko Watanabe,
Grade 2, Primary Years Programme

“I'm very impressed with the kindergarten teachers' warmth and passion for children at GIIS. We are very comfortable communicating with the teachers. Both my children, Minjoon and Joonhee are very happy to go to school and meet their teachers and friends everyday. I can see their development from every angle."

Ms. Mihee Kwon
Mother of Minjoon, Kindergarten 2 (Global Montessori Programme)
and Joonhee, Grade 3, Primary Years Programme
