CHANDU BORDE GLOBAL CRICKET ACADEMY (CBGCA)
Global Indian International School (GIIS) launched the Chandu Borde Global Cricket Academy (CBGCA) in December of 2012, at the GIIS Singapore Campus. Part of GIIS’ pedagogical approach towards holistic education, CBGCA is designed to impart specialised training and guidance in cricket to young students.
The initiative is named after Chandu Borde, former captain of the Indian National Cricket team.
About CBGCA
Facilitated by a team of professional coaches, CBGCA is conducted on customised pitches for intensive practice sessions.
Student participants are mentored directly by Mr. Borde regarding how to develop and refine their cricketing talent and techniques, including batting, bowling, fielding, and wicket-keeping.
In fact, CBGCA is involved throughout each stage of the process towards producing high-caliber players who will become the country’s next generation of great cricketers.
CBGCA and the Nine Gems
In addition to promoting overall fitness and cricket techniques within an optimal learning environment, CBGCA also emphasises the importance of character development in alignment with the innovative GIIS 9GEMS model. This holistic approach to education identifies and supports nine key facets of student growth (effectively, our 9GEMS), including leadership and sportsmanship which are all part of the CBGCA curriculum.
